Janine Kahn (French, 1903 - 1972) was associated with the Surrealist movement in the 1920s through her sister Simone, who was married to André Breton from 1921-1931. In 1928, she married Raymond Queneau, a poet and novelist who had been associated with the Surrealists since 1924. Their son, Jean-Marie Queneau, went on to become a painter. She is the subject of several portraits by Man Ray from the 1920s.
