New York City-based designer Carol Egan creates sculptural domestic pieces that bring a sophistication to any setting. Utilizing modern 3D modeling software, Egan is able to torque and manipulate materials that were previously unimaginable. The artist states, “As a designer, I’m interested in technology. I am fascinated by the intersection of technology with craftwork. What excites me is using the technology to manipulate material into unexpected and unique forms.” [1] Inspired by the wing of a dragonfly, Double Emperor gracefully extends out from the wall, each shelf projecting from a different angle.
